Ed and Debbie Cullen have been serving together on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands since 2003. In addition to leading a church ministry, they operate Lighthouse Mission, a Christ-centered, service-oriented, community-minded ministry in the center of the city. The ministry serves hot meals to the homeless and needy, and provides personal care needs such as clothing, toiletries, hygiene items, towels and hot showers. Their open door to the street is the gateway to relationships, to the Gospel, to on and off-island rehab and referrals to other service providers.
The children’s program ministers to elementary age children in their after-school hours, provides a safe, nurturing environment, includes character development through Bible lessons and provides homework help. The staff supports families and coordinates with school teachers and guidance counselors to serve the children’s best interests.
The Cullen’s mission is to "Shine the light of Jesus into Christiansted" through programs of education and compassion as we establish vital connections with individuals, churches, schools, businesses, civic groups, and government agencies, sponsor community events, and host volunteers, mission teams and college interns”.
