David and Faith are originally from Baton Rouge. David’s parents and grandparents were all active members at Zoar. David and Faith have been serving in central China for 22 years, where the focus of their work has been centered around Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world…”
Living in what is known as a “closed country” for missionaries, those who serve in China musts find other ways and methods of legally being in the country. David and Faith realized that the number one desire for the majority of people in their area was to improve in their English, so they opened a coffee house and foreign language club, where students and business professionals come to hang out, relax and improve their English language skills. At the same time, David, Faith and their team are able to develop lasting relationships with those who frequent the club. During the 15 years that the coffee house has been opened, many have come as customers, and left as family. Some who began coming years ago as students, now come as business professionals and bring their children to enjoy the environment.
Most importantly, by striving to run a business that aligns with God’s principles, “the people living in darkness have seen a great light”. Matthew 4:16
